There seems to be a lot of talk around this time of year about “ice dams” causing water damage to peoples homes, but have you ever wondered what exactly are “ice dams” and how can they be prevented?

How can Ice Dams be prevented?
A few suggestions are to make sure you have sufficient insulation and ventilation through your attic, and to completely remove snow off your roof with a snow rake.
